North Asia CAPE, in partnership with Oyster Workshop, launched an alumni programme for Māori and Pacific business owners last Friday, 3 December. This brought together three cohorts of our programme, which previously focused on creative entrepreneurs and has now widened its scope to include sectors beyond the creative industries.

It wasn’t possible for us to plan for an in-person event this time, but the online launch event was inspiring and fun. After whakawhanaungatanga, the group made origami paper cranes, had a go at writing their names in Chinese, and competed in a Korean K-quiz.

We are excited to have the chance to deepen our relationships and work more closely with the alumni group next year. Combined with new cohorts coming onboard in 2022, the alumni programme seeks to strengthen people-to-people connections, provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, and facilitate ongoing support.
