The CAPEs offer a range of innovative education programmes and learning opportunities for New Zealand schools, teachers, and students. We connect Aotearoa New Zealand with the Asia-Pacific through global citizenship education.
Support for schools
Cultural awareness and understanding is so important in today’s world. We upskill educators (from primary to tertiary level) across New Zealand by providing them with the knowledge, tools and resources they need to inspire and prepare the next generation to become active global citizens
Learn more than how to communicate in a different language. We help teachers and students develop important culturally-informed skills to engage, connect and collaborate in authentic, meaningful and respectful ways
Developing members of the global community
Our backyard is shaped by global events, challenges, goals, and decision making. As members of the global community, our actions and decisions in Aotearoa New Zealand also have the potential to shape decisions, responses and actions throughout the world. Watch Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern talk about what it means to be a member of the global community and how young people in can play an active role. This was recorded for the CAPEs' Growing Global Citizens in Aotearoa Teachers' Forum in July 2021.
