To help businesses understand the issues they need to consider when looking at new markets in the Asia-Pacific, all three of the CAPEs have launched a series of dialogues between exporters, academics, and trade experts.
Latin America, New Zealand, Australia and the Blue Pacific: Opportunities for Engagement
This panel focused on the findings of our two reports on links between New Zealand, its closest neighbours, and Latin America. The speakers included: John Capper of MartinJenkins, Australia’s Deputy High Commissioner to New Zealand Ms Amy Guihot; and Chile’s new Ambassador to New Zealand Ms Manahi Pakarati. John presented the reports he authored; the Deputy High Commissioner reflected on Australia’s ties to Latin America; and the Ambassador commented on Chile and the Pacific.

The film follows artist Joseph Michael as he explores our physical, biological, and cultural link to trees, through conversations with scientists, artists and indigenous leaders.
QS Panel 2021: Expanding The Map of Opportunity, Developing Partnerships Across Regions
This panel was part of the QS Americas 2021 conference and exhibition on 1 September 2021, where the theme was “A New Beginning: The next decade of higher education in the Americas”. This panel, of which LatAm CAPE Director Dr Matthew O’Meagher was a part of, specifically discussed how to expand the map of opportunities to network with the international higher education community and build strategic partnerships.
Plurinationality in Chile in the New Constitution: Current Difficulties & Challenges for Indigenous Peoples
In this public lecture, Dr Loncon discussed her experiences in constitutional processes and social and political movements as an Indigenous woman, academic and indigenous rights activist. This was a unique opportunity to hear Dr Loncon’s perspectives where gender and indigeneity were at the forefront in her lecture.
