NA CAPE is pleased to announce that applications for our 2023 Korea Study Visit and Global Citizenship Education Programme are now OPEN!

This is an exciting opportunity for those working in education-related roles in NZ schools/organisations.The programme is fully funded, which includes a Korea study tour supported by the Korean Education Centre (KEC). Thanks also to the support of Education NZ.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
KSV-GCED is a collaborative programme organised and funded by NA CAPE in partnership with the Korean Education Centre (KEC) that aims to offer NZ educators capacity-building and networking opportunities through in-country workshops and study tour to Korea. It combines linguistic, cultural competency and global citizenship training, immersion and evaluation into one holistic programme, with content delivered in three parts in both New Zealand and South Korea:

PART I: PRE-DEPARTURE TRAINING

(a) 1-2hr online workshop on GCED
(b) 1 in-person conference on GCED in Auckland
(c) 1-2hr online Korean language training
(d) 1 info session (logistics, health and safety)

PART II: KOREA VISIT (17-25 Oct 2023)
(a) fully-funded attendance in the international conference on GCED by UNESCO APCEIU
(b) fully-funded study tour that includes, among others, visits to important cultural and historical sites as well as to Ministry of Education offices in Seoul and Busan, and Korean schools for classroom observations and Q&A session with Korean principals and teachers

PART III: POST-TRAVEL WORKSHOP AND SHARING OF EXPERIENCES

ELIGIBILITY

a) NZ permanent resident/citizen
b) employed in a NZ school or working in NZ organisation with teaching/education-related role

Preference will be given to:

  • those working in schools/organisations interested to set up a Korean language or Korea-related programme
  • those working in schools with existing partnership/exchange with a Korea/North Asia-based school/organisation
  • K-hub community partners/students/alumni
  • schools interested in Global Citizenship Education (GCED)
