Register for the Winds of Changes symposiums
We are excited to host two online symposiums for our Winds of Change programmes on 1 and 2 December 2022.
The Winds of Change programme unites postgraduate students from New Zealand and Chile (Latin America programme) and New Zealand and China (North Asia programme) to explore climate change impacts and resilience strategies by learning from each other. This is the third year for the latin America programme and is the inaugural North Asia version of the programme, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and China and illustrates the continued value of this important relationship.
In both seminars, the participants will share the results of their collaborative projects, the areas covered include:
• water conservation
• food waste
• carbon markets
• marine diversity
• green hydrogen
• sustainable business best practice
• Indigenous self-determination and ecosystem management
• reforesting native bush
• climate change impacts on the albatross
• Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and climate change
• Indigenous peoples and climate adaptation
The projects show how Asia-Pacific knowledge and collaboration help us to tackle shared climate change issues and increase well-being in both countries. Our website will be updated with details about the projects ahead of the Symposiums, although you can see previous years’ details for the Latin America programme.
