We are offering up to ten high school students of the Japanese language the opportunity to participate in a Japanese language and culture immersion weekend programme in Auckland.

Fully funded, this programme will be held at the end of June, taking place at the University of Auckland over two nights and three days.

This Japan-focused programme offers students the opportunity to learn about the unique Japanese language and culture through immersive activities. Included will be an awareness and understanding of Aotearoa history as it relates to Japan, and the importance of studying Japanese.

By the end of the programme students will be able to grasp the wider significance for their futures of learning Japanese as well as the links to business between New Zealand and North Asia.

Eligibility:
* Students must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
* Current top language learners of the Japanese language in years 12 or 13 at registered New Zealand high schools. Applications require endorsement by their teacher.
* Available for travel from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 28-30 June 2024

Applications are now open. Apply here by 24 May 2024
