Explore the NZ–Japan education relationship
20 January 2023
Last year marked 70 years of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Japan and commemorations highlighted the important role education exchanges have played in supporting bilateral relations between the two countries. This event will provide an opportunity to reflect on outcomes of exchanges and explore future opportunities. The session will begin with a short presentation on the Japan education market and demonstrate the value of engaging in internationalisation and global citizenship work to complement student recruitment strategies.
Panellists from North Asia CAPE, Education New Zealand, and New Zealand organisations working with Japanese partners and students will discuss collaborative initiatives and global citizenship work undertaken between Japan and New Zealand over the past three years, in particular in the digital space. Audience members are encouraged to bring their questions and stay for the networking event.
We’re especially excited to have joining us New Zealand’s Ambassador to Japan Hamish Cooper, and Japan’s Ambassador to New Zealand Koichi Ito.
