Singapore and Malaysia Market Readiness Programme is scheduled to take place in Palmerston North on 10th May, 2024 and in Hawke’s Bay on 28th May, 2024.
This 3.5-hour fully funded workshop will cover various topics, including trading environments, cultural aspects, insights on in-market competition, market entry strategies, experiences of Kiwi exporters, and networking opportunities with ASEAN connections. It will therefore be helpful if you are interested in exporting to Southeast Asia, working in Southeast Asia, or learning about Southeast Asia business culture and trade incentives.
Join this workshop to enhance your understanding of Southeast Asian markets and gain expert insights from Dr. Grigorij Ljubownikow and Dr. Benjamin Fath in the Palmerston North’s workshop, and Dr. Ben Fath and Antje Fiedler in the Hawke’s Bay’s workshop.

Dr. Grigorij Ljubownikow, Lecturer at the Graduate School of Management, University of Auckland
Greg has a research interest in competitive strategy with a particular focus on competitive dynamics and growth strategies. His research has been published in international journals, and he has more than ten years of university teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Lately, he has been teaching at the University of Auckland Business School in the Business Master’s, MBA, and Executive Education programmes. In his Strategy Capstone course, he and his students work with NZ companies to address their domestic and international strategy challenges.
Dr. Benjamin Fath, Senior Lecturer in Management and International Business in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Auckland
His research has included the growth, internationalisation and innovation in New Zealand SMEs. He has been involved in a series of large-scale survey and interview studies that investigated management challenges in SMEs operating from small economies. His recent research has been on how the economic re-emergence of Asia influences New Zealand SMEs. This has informed a number of courses at the Business School on research methods, entrepreneurship and competing in Asia; as well as practitioner workshops across the country.
Dr. Antje Fiedler, Senior Lecturer at University of Auckland, Associate Director of the New Zealand Asia Institute, Associate Editor of the Journal of Small Business Management
Antje teaches on the MBA and Masters program in the area of international business and strategy. She has undertaken extensive research on growth, innovation and internationalization of NZ SMEs. Her research has been published in international journals as well as informed courses at the Business School (University of Auckland) and practitioner workshops around New Zealand (hosted at Export NZ). She is the Director of the China Studies Centre of the University of Auckland and an academic advisor of the South East Asia CAPE.
