*Student Applications have now closed for the 2019 Market Insights Programme.
Thank you to all those who applied. Your local coordinator will be in touch in the coming weeks to inform you of the outcome of your application.
The North Asia, Southeast Asia and Latin America Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPEs) are joining forces to offer the Market Insights Programme (MIP) in Auckland, Hamilton, and Wellington.
The MIP is a project based, guided internship programme that harnesses the market and culture-specific insights of domestic and international tertiary students and matches these to New Zealand businesses’ needs. Students are selected through a competitive application process and are guided by dedicated academic mentors throughout the programme.
Watch these short videos about the Market Insights Programme:
As a participating MIP student, you will have the opportunity to complete an internship locally at a business in Auckland, Hamilton, and Wellington.
Throughout the programme you’ll attend specialist workshops and receive guidance from experts and mentors as you work on your business project.
If you have knowledge, insights and experience of North Asia (China, Japan and Korea); Southeast Asia or Latin America; have completed more than one year of tertiary study; and would like to participate in this guided internship programme, we want to hear from you! Full details are available at the end of this page.
As a participating business, you will identify one to two projects that are important to your business' current or future engagement in North Asia (China, Japan and Korea), Southeast Asia or Latin America. Once we have selected students that match the skillset required, you will host one or two of them from July to October. The student(s) will spend 10–15 hours per fortnight on the project assigned by you.
To express your interest, please download and complete the 'Business Expression of Interest Form' located at the bottom of this page, and email to your local coordinator.
The CAPEs are also seeking expert partners to host one of a series of three specialist workshops or roundtable discussions for the participating businesses and students.
Each workshop will focus on a theme relevant to New Zealand businesses considering, or already trading with markets in North Asia, Southeast Asia and/or Latin America.
The workshop series is an excellent opportunity for partners to interact and network with the participating students and businesses.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact your local MIP coordinator.
