This documentary reconstructs what happened in 2020 with the Greg Mortimer Antarctic cruise ship, which reached the Uruguayan coast in the midst of a pandemic with 128 cases of COVID-19 on board among passengers and crew, which included Australians and New Zealanders. The ship had been been refused entry in some ports, and in Uruguay, the Ministries of Public Health and Foreign Relations coordinated an assistance operation, known as “humanitarian corridors” to get the passengers home.
Don’t miss the New Zealand premiere screening of Greg Mortimer – En busca de una tierra solidaria, as part of Aotearoa Spanish Language Week 2023. Presented by the Embassy of Uruguay and AUT.
