First DILA course complete
19 May 2022
Congratulations to all our participants for completing our first ever Diversifying into Latin America (DILA) business programme!
Last weekend, participants, facilitators and guests had the opportunity to gather in Wellington to be part of our DILA closing session. It was a fantastic two-day event to wrap up seven weeks of online workshops on the importance of Latin America as a potential market for New Zealand business. This was the first gathering in-person for the participants, with the opening moved online due to New Zealand’s COVID-19 situation at the time.
On Friday night, we were privileged to have Jacqui Caine, General Manager, Strategy and Influence, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu as our guest speaker and diplomat Vangelis Vitalis added incredible value to our Saturday session.
DILA 2022 participant, Glenn Hansen, Group Financial Controller, Vortex Engineering Group says that participation in the DILA gave him new insights into Latin America – its regional diversity and latent opportunities. It also provided connections well beyond my expectations.
“The speakers organised for the course were without exception excellent, and all offered value to anyone seeking it,” says Glenn. “The quality of the speakers and the pertinence of what they brought really impressed me. The content was good, but my real takeaway is this: it is not always what you do or what you learn that provides the most value, but rather the people you meet and the relationships you forge and connections you establish.”
We’re planning to run a second DILA programme later in 2022, so keep an eye on our social channels or subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date with us.
