Lifting our sights on cooperating with Latin America
Join us on Thursday, 8 February at the Hunter Council Chamber, at Victoria University of Wellington’s Kelburn campus as we launch our first piece of commissioned research for the year: a report by New Zealand Institute of Economic Research on the extent and significance of New Zealand’s diplomatic collaborations with Latin America and the steps required to enhance our linkages with this region in an age of reduced certainty.
The report’s authors Chris Nixon, Principal Economist at NZIER and former Minister of Trade and former Ambassador to the United States, Hon Tim Groser, will be speaking. Following them will be a panel discussion which will include Sarah Lee, Unit Manager – Latin America and Caribbean, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Dr Malcolm MacKinnon, Adjunct Associate Professor, School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington.
