Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa 2023 applications now open

Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa aims to increase Māori and Indigenous business engagement, capability and awareness internationally. These programmes are developed to facilitate business engagement for Māori tertiary students and Māori businesses. Each programme has a key focus on exploring Indigenous business to its fullest and what values underpin the success of Māori and Indigenous business across the Asia-Pacific
For the first time since 2019, we’re finally heading back overseas with programmes running in Colombia, Taiwan, and Malaysia! You will join other tauira Māori as you engage with Indigenous and business experts, leaders, organisations, and communities, while experiencing the culture that your new country has to offer!
Māori tertiary students and Māori businesses across Aotearoa are invited to apply!

are enrolled in full-time tertiary studies at any unversity, polytechnic or wānanga across Aotearoa
-
preferably study business; or can demonstrate a strong knowledge in business
-
be in your second or above year of undergraduate degree or higher qualification
-
can demonstrate strong leadership potential.
If you are a Māori Business you:

are a registered New Zealand business
-
are preferably founder-operated businesses that have been running for 18+ months; who actively demonstrate kaupapa Māori values and provide benefits to Māori

can demonstrate hands-on experience mentoring young talent.

What are the reasons for your interest in applying for the Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa Programme 2022?

Describe any current business involvement and/or business aspirations

What benefits/expected outcomes do you anticipate as a result of your participation for yourself, your community and/or the institute you attend?

Tell us about your contributions as a leader, your experience and commitment to a kaupapa over time.
Applicants who have been shortlisted will be notified by email for interview within one week of the closing date. Interviews will take place online within the week following shortlisting. Successful applicants for 2023 will be notified via email and announced through our website and social media.
